Welcome to the Digital Media Center!

The Digital Media Center is open to all full-time students enrolled in the Johns Hopkins University Schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering. The DMC enriches the academic and personal lives of JHU students by providing an interdisciplinary environment where art and technology merge. By promoting the use of emerging technologies in students' scholarly and creative works we prepare life-long learners to confidently master new technologies and to disseminate works that effectively communicate their ideas.

JHU Kinetic Sculpture Race Team

JHU student engineers and artists are collaborating to create a human-powered sculpture to compete in an all-terrain race that goes through sand, mud, and even water. The Blue Jay sculpture is being made from recycled and natural materials. It will be wired with GPS, web cams, and laptop so that its progress can be followed on race day, Saturday May 2, 2009.
